Flights are by their nature a bit dull at times. Luckily the flight time to Malaga is only around two and a quarter hours from the UK, depending of course on which airport you are flying from. But it is certainly better than flying to the other side of the world, which can take the best part of twenty four hours to complete.
The trick in making the flight time go faster is to prepare for it in advance. If you are like many people you will probably want to watch out the window as the plane takes off and lands. But once you are up and away you won’t have much to look at, so make sure you are prepared for spending the time more productively.
It can be a good idea to have a good book or a newspaper to hand that you can read to pass the time. It can sometimes work better to have something you can easily dip in and out of, because there can be interruptions on a plane that you wouldn’t get if you were reading somewhere more peaceful. Reading a non fiction book that is split into many different sections could work well for example.
The main advantage of having magazines or newspapers to hand is that they don’t take up much space in your hand luggage. To this end, if you select a book to take with you make sure it isn’t a hardback book or something too bulky in size. Remember this is only a flight that lasts a couple of hours or so – not a whole day!
Travel games are a good bet as well if you happen to be travelling with someone else. Once again they easily fit into your hand luggage and they are nice and light too. And if you happen to have the odd jolt of turbulence you won’t lose all the pieces as they are likely to be magnetic.
It doesn’t really take too long to prepare for a flight of this length as you only have a couple of hours to worry about. But it’s definitely worth looking ahead and getting together as many things as possible so you can consider what you want to take on the flight with you. This is particularly good if you happen to be a nervous flier and you need to calm your nerves as you head off on your Malaga holiday.
